HOW TO PREP FOR AN IN HOME NEWBORN SESSION

Getting ready for an in home session?

Are you getting ready for an in-home newborn photoshoot in Minneapolis? I’ll share some tips down below, but the most important thing to remember is: babies are unpredictable. Postpartum is unpredictable. I am not afraid of messy houses, jealous toddlers, hormonal teary eyes… or hormonal leaky boobs. I promise you, you will not faze me.

How I shoot newborns- how they are! Simple, organic, and authentic. No forcing them into poses or adding extra props. I want babies snuggling mamas and daddys, and to capture the look of wonder in your eyes. So you can always remember this time, as it was.

Here are a couple of tips I do recommend, IF THEY WORK FOR YOU:

Try and feed baby within 30 minutes of our start time.

I’ll arrive a bit early and scout out areas with the best light- no need to entertain me!

If using one, have a pacifier readily available.

If you have areas you definitely want to shoot in, try and clear any clutter in those areas, and open all blinds.

Please remove any crib bumpers.

Parents and siblings wear light, neutral clothing.

Multiple breaks for feeding and comforting baby are normal and expected.

I can’t wait to meet you and your new baby!
